The word Sikh means student or follower. Sikhs are students and followers of the Sikh religion. They are direct descendants of the ancient Indus Valley Civilization in South Asia - one of the original four ancient civilizations.

Sikhs established their Kingdom twice - 1710-1715 and 1799-1849. They are regarded by historians as benevolent, just, and progressive Kingdoms.

Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said at a concert of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh "A guy from Punjab can make history and sell out stadiums." If the former Canadian Prime Minister recognizes distinctness of Punjab, you should too.
